Three Things Thursday!

One - It’s official – the gear is in and the races are chosen – I am the second, and one of only two members of the elite squad known as “Team Active Chiropractic”. I had Bob take pictures of myself in the gear Tuesday night and sent them to Dr. G. The next day the following text conversation went like this:

Him: “Pictures are awesome. Love the kits. Hope it fits well. Welcome to the AC Elite team!”
Me: “Thank you! Love it! I might not be fast but I will look good tri-ing!”
Him: “You will be fast. Plus the slower you go the better the advertisement!”
Me: “True. Then you should get lots of new patients.”
I know he really doesn’t care that I am not fast, but he is nice about it.
Here's the outfit, sorry the pics are not great and I was wearing sunglasses inside because I had already washed my face and was makeup free, hence my giant, shiny forehead!

NOTE: And just so everyone knows, Maggie already told me that my (ahem) chest looks HUGE and I was just happy that my behind didn't! LOL!

Two - I had an awesome thing happen on Saturday during my morning run with Maggie...
Some of you migh already know that I L-O-V-E the show "Hoarders". It completely fascinates me.
Well during our second pass, heading back to the run start we were again hit by this horrbily stinky, something died, breathe thru your mouth block on our run. We knew it was coming, we had smelled it on our way out. What we didn't know until I looked to my right and paid attention...there, before my very eyes...a house marked condemned and the signs a cleanup had begun. I could see thru the filthy windows, the pryed open door and crawl space this place was foul, not to again mention THE SMELL. I was almost dancing I was so excited. I cannot tell you had badly I wanted to throw on a mask and some gloves and go see the inside. How do people get there? What is the switch that is turned on or off off that causes it? I still think about driving over there and going to poke around but Bob ain't having it! Dang it!

Three - My sister (2.5 years older than me), her husband and my niece and nephew (15 and 13) are moving to Switzerland for 3 to 5 years. I am so excited for this opportunity for them and will miss them. There is a Zurich Marathon (see...) and I am sure I will visit them...that is not the point here. My parent's - I am sad for them. Their only 2 grandchildren are moving away. They love those kids so much and visa-versa BUT I did tell them this: They are super lucky to have had the g-kids in the same town for their so-far entire lives. Lucky to have spent so much time with them, helping them mature and mold into the awesome kids that they are. There are so many g-parents that don't get 5% of the time with their g-kids as Mom and Dad have.
I know that doesn't make it easier though. I don't feel guilty being the "childless" daughter. My parents knew LONG ago that kids were not in the cards for me BUT do know that I have offered up these two cuties to come and stay with them ANYTIME they want!

Now who could say no to these faces?
My fur kids!

Happy Thursday! Run safe, run happy! -d
